Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa President of the Bahraini Olympic Committee inaugurated the 3rd West Asian Paralympic Games. The Games witnessed the attendance of the Saudi Delegation in the Games President HH Prince Fahad Bin Jalawi VP of the Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee on Sunday in Arad Fort, Bahrain.
Team Saudi Athlete Fayik Abdi concluded his historical participation in the 24th Winter Olympics in Beijing. Abdi ranked 44th out of a total 89 competitors in the third round, as he ranked 45th and 51st in the first two rounds.
As Saudi Arabia is marking the first participation since the first version of the Winter Olympics has launched in 1924, the 24th Winter Olympics was inaugurated today in Beijing which is to be held until the 20th of February in the presence of the President of the Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee HRH Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal alongside 90 countries from all over the world.

The Kingdom is participating in this Olympics as the first participation by Team Saudi of Winter Sports Fayik Abdi marking the First participation of Saudi Athletes ever since the beginning of the Winter Olympics in 1924. qualifying for the competitions of the Winter Olympics in the Alpine Skiing. Abdi scored 131.03 points in five major competitions in a record period.
Saudi Team Athletes of Winter Sports Fayik Abdi, Salman Al Howaish, and Rakan Reda were honored by VP of the Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee for their qualification for the Winter Olympics Beijing 2022 which is to be held on the 4th of next February.
