Abdi Concludes The Historical Sudi Participation At The Winter Olympics
Team Saudi Athlete Fayik Abdi concluded his historical participation in the 24th Winter Olympics in Beijing. Abdi ranked 44th out of a total 89 competitors in the third round, as he ranked 45th and 51st in the first two rounds.
the first Saudi participation is to be regarded as a great development of the Saudi sport and an indication for even a brighter future for the Saudi sport given that the nature of the Kingdom’s climate rarely match the winter sports weather conditions, and the Saudi Winter Sports Federation was founded only two years ago. As also the Winter Olympics marked only five Arab participations since the Games was launched in 1924.
