Riyadh Celebrates The Torch Relay Of The 2022 Saudi Games

Residents of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, had the opportunity to witness a historic sporting event yesterday, with the launch of the torch relay of the first edition of the Saudi Games 2022, which is the largest national sporting event in the history of the Kingdom. The relay will travel across more than 3,500 km to promote the positive values of the Saudi Games and to convey a message of peace and friendship to people throughout the march.

SOPC Announces The Results Of The Operational Evaluation Of The Federations Support Strategy

The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) announces the results of the operational evaluation of the Federations’ Support Strategy for the period from May to August 2022 after its launch last November with a budget estimated at 2,600,000,000SR as one of the initiatives of the Quality of Life Program aimed at making a developmental shift in the Saudi sports federations. The initial evaluation phase included 54 sports federations, providing initial financial support to all federations to accelerate the strategy’s objectives.

Team Saudi Ended Its Participation In The 5th Islamic Solidarity Games Held

With the participation of 4,000 male and female athletes representing 54 Islamic countries. The Kingdom brought home 24 medals and placed 15th in the general rankings. The Saidi national weightlifting team deliver the highest share of medals, reaching 11 medals (1 gold, six silver and four bronze).

SOPC Submits An Official Letter Of Interest To OCA To Host The Asian Winter Games 2029 In TROJENA, NEOM

The Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee has officially submitted a letter of interest to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) aiming to host the 10th Asian Winter Games (AWG) in TROJENA, NEOM’s global destination for mountain tourism. The letter included a brief of the ambitious Kingdom’s Vision 2030 which will support TROJENA to host one of the most significant sporting events in Asia, where more than 32 Asian countries are expected to participate, once the bid is validated, for the first time ever in West Asia.

Team Saudi athletes increases the score of total Saudi medals in the 3rd GCC Games competitions in Kuwait after achieving 8 medals in the last day of the competitions to score 67 total Saudi Medals (16 gold, 22 silver, 29 bronze).

Four Teams Inaugurates The Saudi Participation At The GCC Games Tomorrow.

The 3rd GCC Games shall inaugurates its competitions held in Kuwait until the 31st of May with the participation of all GCC countries. The Saudi teams shall be competing in many sports in the GCC Games, more specifically, Men and Women Futsal, men and women Athletics including 100m, 400m qualifications, 100m hurdles, long jump, and Shot put. Saudi teams completed their training sessions today on the venues of the Games in Kuwait.

As Riyadh has won the bid to host the World Combat Games 2024, in this regard, HRH prince Abdulaziz ALFAISAL President of The Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee signs the host city contract of WCG with Mr. Ivo Ferriani President of GAISF. The signing ceremony was held at Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Olympic Complex in Riyadh with the attendance of HH Prince Fahad Bin Jalawi.

HRH President of SOPC Signs Host City Contract Of AIMAG 2025

In light of hosting Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) 2025 in Riyadh for the first time ever, HRH Prince Abdulaziz AlFaisal, president of the Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee (SOPC) in his turn have signed the Host city contract with Mr. Raja Randhir SINGH, president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The signing ceremony took place this Tuesday, as HH Prince Fahad Bin Jalawi Vice-president of SOPC and Mr. Hussain Al-Musallam the General Manager of the OCA attended the signing ceremony.
