The Saudi Olympic Academy Achieves The “otto Simizek” Award

The Saudi Olympic Academy received the “Otto Simezik” award as the first national Olympic Academy to win the award during the official ceremony held today, Sunday. It was delivered on the occasion of the inauguration of the 62nd edition of the Olympic Ambassadors Program of the International Olympic Academy in the Greek capital, Athens, in the presence of the President of the Greek Republic, Katrina Sakellaroboulou.

The Vice-President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Olympic Academy, HH Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, received the award from the President of the International Olympic Academy, “Evelius Covelius”, in return for reactivating the Saudi Academy since the middle of last year, and its establishment of many diverse educational programs that targeted male and female university students, in addition to several employees of the sports sector in the Kingdom. These initiatives consequently helped raise the quality of Olympic education in Saudi Arabia in a short time.

On this occasion, His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi raised his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God support him – and His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect him – for the care and attention they give to the sports sector and its employees. And the daily and continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, which made the work and projects of the Saudi Academy gain the appreciation and honour of the international Olympic community.

The opening ceremony of the new academic season was attended by the CEO of the Saudi Olympic Academy, Mr Ali Aoun, the Executive Director of Marketing and Institutional Communication at the SOPC Abdulaziz Al-Baqous, and Mr Ahmed Al-Shehri, in addition to the new Saudi students who the Saudi Olympic Academy sent, Sufyan Al-Faris and Haifa Al-Masoud and Fatima Al-Bogami.
