The delegation of the Saudi Olympic football team has arrived in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, in preparation for participating in the 32nd Olympic Games titled “Tokyo 2020.” the Saudi team will start their first match against the Ivory Coast national team at 11:30, Saudi time, next Thursday, at Yokohama Stadium, as planned for the fourth group, which includes next to it Brazil and Germany.

The Saudi national team had completed the sixth stage of its preparation in the Republic of Romania for ten days, during which it played two matches against the Romanian national team. The first ended in a 1-1 draw, while the second ended in a goalless draw.

The Saudi team delegation includes 22 players: Amin Bukhari, Muhammad Al-Rubaie, Zaid Al-Bawadri, Saud Abdul-Hamid, Hamad Al-Yami, Khalifa Al-Dosari, Abdullah Al-Omari, Abdul Basit Hindi, Abdullah Al-Hassoun, Yasser Al-Shahrani, Salman Al-Faraj, Nasser Al-Omran, Ali Al-Hassan, Mukhtar Ali, and Abdul-Rahman. Gharib, Sami Al-Naji, Ayman Al-Khalif, Turki Al-Ammar, Khaled Al-Ghanam, Ayman Yahya, Salem Al-Dosari and Abdullah Al-Hamdan, under the leadership of the national coach Saad Al-Shehri.

Notably, the Saudi national team’s qualification for the Olympics came after an absence of 24 years after it finished runner-up to the South Korean team in the AFC U-23 Championship held early last year.
