The Conclusion Of The 2nd International Athletes Forum In Riyadh

The Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), HH Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz AlSaud highlighted in his concluding speech at the 2nd International Athletes Forum in Riyadh the generous and unlimited support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HRH Prince Muhammad bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the sports sector, is an opportunity for all athletes in the Kingdom, to present their highest technical levels and highlight their talents and to raise the Kingdom’s flag in all sports forums.

The event, organized by the Athletes Committee under the patronage of the President of the SOPC HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, ran on the sidelines of the 1st Saudi Games. HH, the VP, added that the vision of the Crown Prince requires all athletes to seize a golden opportunity that was not available to previous sports generations, which requires them to exploit this golden stage in the best and most complete ways.

Additionally, HH congratulated the athletes nominated for membership in the Athletes Committee for the 2022-2026 session for the confidence of their federations and employees in their nomination to be among the elite players. Additionally, they ensured their presence in the final stage of the committee’s electoral process.

In addition, a member of the SOPC Board of Directors, Ms Adwaa Al-Arifi, pointed out that the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 had a significant role in developing women’s sports and raising the number of women’s sports practices, teams and achievements. In the women’s sports session, Rasha Al-Khamis also praised the support that the sports sector is experiencing in the Kingdom, noting that Saudi women can achieve all their sports dreams at the local and international levels.

In the session (the importance of the player’s mental health), the sports psychologist, Dr Muhammad Abdullatif, stressed that mental training is essential for sports excellence and the development of the player’s lifestyle.

In the session (The Players’ Journey to the World), Hadi Souan, the head of the Saudi Olympic Athletes Committee, revealed; He started his sports career when he set himself a goal and a vision for the direction he would be in after retiring, which jockey Abdullah Al-Sharbatly confirmed that age is an ineffective factor in achieving sporting achievements.

The forum sessions witnessed the participation of the Saudi fencing team player Ruba Al-Masry, squash player Nada Abu Al-Naga, rally driver Mashael Al-Obaidan, jockey Abdul Rahman Al-Rajhi, Mrs Paoloa Binoon, and law consultant Hassan Alseif.

It is noteworthy that the forum aims to highlight and promote the role of the Athletes Committee in the media to serve the aspirations of the athletes, open new frameworks for communication between Saudi and international athletes, introduce them locally and internationally, and create a platform to discuss all topics of interest to the Saudi athlete.
