Riyadh To Host The World Combat Games In October 2023

The Supreme Organizing Committee of the World Combat Games titled “Riyadh 2023” announced the date for the World Combat Games (WCG) to kick off in Riyadh from 22 October to 2 November 2023. HH President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, and Mr Ivo Virani, President of the Association of International Federations, signed the contract to host Riyadh last April.

The Kingdom won hosting the event during the 24th General Assembly of the SOPC, which was held in May 2021 and is part of a memorandum of understanding between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the World Association of International Federations. The event will include aikido, boxing, judo, jujitsu, karate, kendo, kickboxing, Thai boxing, sambo, savate, sumo, taekwondo, wrestling, wushu, and fencing.
