Four Sessions At The Saudi Coaches Association Conference In Riyadh

Vice-President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), HH Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, pointed out at the 1st Saudi Coaches Association Conference held in Riyadh, “due to the significant shift in sport and the unlimited support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the follow-up of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the SOPC it was crucial to focus on the Saudi national coaches.”

The event, which ran under the patronage of the President of the SOPC HRH, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, was held on the sidelines of the 1st Saudi Games, where

more than 30 national coaches who have distinguished themselves over the past years with their longstanding experience and achievements in the field of training. The coaches are Khalil Al-Zayani, Nasser Al-Jawhar, Muhammad Al-Kharashi, Abdullatif Al-Husseini, Hamoud Al-Salwa, Dr Abdulaziz Al-Khaled, Saad Al-Shehri, Khaled Al-Atwi and Saleh Al-Mohammadi (football), Muhammad Al-Salouli and Khaled Al-Ammar (volleyball), Ali Al-Sanhani and Salman Al-Thawab (basketball), Fadel Al-Saeed and Abdel-Moneim Hilal (handball). Asim Al-Hazam and Mutlaq Yahya Mahdi (athletics), Omar Al-Ali and Thamer Al-Maliki (Karate), Muhammad Al-Qahtani and Fahd Al-Duwaisan (Taekwondo), Fouad Al-Nasiri and Majid Al-Mutairi (fencing), Adnan Al-Sada and Taher Al-Shayba (weightlifting), and Sami Al-Khalidi (table tennis).

Dr Yahya Al-Sharif gave the first session and talked about the path of the coaching profession, the importance of development through continuing education courses, and the importance of having a distinguished business agent to provide the trainer in the required manner and choosing the assistance team very carefully.

Professor Al-Mahdi bin Abdul Majeed followed with a speech about the course on the scientific foundations for sports selection, followed by a session by Dr Hussein Jaafar. The latter discussed the scientific foundations for designing athletic strength programs for talented players. Finally, Mr Ali Al-Baqeri concluded with a session on mental preparation and its importance in bringing the talented to the podium.
