Fahad Bin Jalawi Inaugurates The Olympic Training Centre

HH Prince Fahad Bin Jalawi Vice president of the SAOC inaugurated the official Saudi identity of the Saudi Olympic training centre, on behalf of HRH president of the SAOC Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki AFaisal. The inauguration was held in the presence of his excellency Mr. Badr AlKadi, vice minister of Sport in Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Olympic complex.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Olympic training centre CEO Mr. matt Favier, who has more than 25 years of athletic experience in Australia and the UK was introduced to the attendees. the preliminary list of the athletes who shall join the Olympic Training Centre was also revealed. The list included 150 athletes of more than 14 sports.
HH vice president of the SAOC emphasized that today is the beginning of a new successful story in the Saudi sports thanks to the great unlimited support the Saudi sports gets from the custodian of the two holy mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. In addition to the keenness and the follow up of HRH Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki AlFaisal.
HH added, “The Elite Athletes’ Development Program aims to improve and enhance the athletes’ skills. forming successful athletes is an outcome of years of work, efforts, and planning. Therefore, we have selected these athletes because we believe that these athletes will be the future of the Saudi sports. It is noteworthy that the elite athletes’ development program is one of the initiatives of the life quality program within the Saudi vision of 2030.
We also aim through this program to provide the perfect environment for athletes financially, technically, and administratively in order to record sports achievement, as one of the objectives of the Saudi 2030 vision. We also pledge to provide all kinds of support in order to ensure the success of the athletes’ career.
Mr. Matt Favier, CEO of the Saudi Olympic Training Centre stressed that The preliminary list of the Centre was carefully selected in accordance with the regulations and conditions established by the Centre. He also emphasized that it is permanently available for athletes to join the Olympic training centre through sports federations that develop several talent and elite exploration programmes in various regions of the Kingdom
Mr. Favier was very delighted to be appointed as CEO of the Saudi Olympic training centre. He also said, “I do the best I can alongside with the teamwork of the centre to develop plans and great visions that will record sports achievements for the kingdom in the short and long term.”
