HRH the Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, today received HE, the President of the International Olympic Committee, Dr. Thomas Bach, in the city of Riyadh upon his arrival in the Kingdom for an official visit. This marks his third visit since his election as the Committee’s president in 2013.

Dr Bach’s visit reaffirms the strong relationship between the International Olympic Committee and the SOPC, in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which has positioned the Kingdom as a home for global sports. Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, will host numerous major sporting events, including the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2025, the Trojena 2029 Asian Winter Games, and the Riyadh 2034 Asian Games, in addition to various championships and major sporting events.

The reception was attended by HH Prince Fahad bin Jalawi Al Saud, Vice President of the SOPC, the Secretary-General and CEO of the Committee, Mr. Abdulaziz Baashen, and Board Member Ms. Adwa Al-Arifi.
